 A HOUSE RESOLUTION TO RECOGNIZE AND COMMEND THE ODYSSEY OF THE MIND TEAM OF
 LEWIS GREENVIEW ELEMENTARY SCHOOL OF RICHLAND COUNTY FOR CAPTURING THE
 CHAMPIONSHIP AT THE 2007 ODYSSEY OF THE MIND WORLD FINALS, AND TO OFFER BEST
 WISHES TO THEM IN ALL OF THEIR FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

TO RECOGNIZE AND COMMEND THE ODYSSEY OF THE MIND TEAM OF LEWIS GREENVIEW ELEMENTARY SCHOOL OF RICHLAND COUNTY FOR CAPTURING THE CHAMPIONSHIP AT THE 2007 ODYSSEY OF THE MIND WORLD FINALS, AND TO OFFER BEST WISHES TO THEM IN ALL OF THEIR FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, the Lewis Greenview Elementary School Odyssey of the Mind team emerged victorious as they outperformed sixty-three other teams in their division at the 2007 Odyssey of the Mind World Finals held at Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan, on May 23-26, 2007, emerging as world champions; and

Whereas, the Odyssey of the Mind program was created by Dr. Samuel Micklus of Rowan University in New Jersey in 1978, and has since grown into an international competition that draws teams from the United States and twenty-five nations, providing the students a positive atmosphere with quality sportsmanship and stimulating coaching in which they can develop creative, problem-solving skills to last a lifetime; and

Whereas, the fifth-grade students who participated on the world championship Lewis Greenview team included Destiny Tolbert, Sarah Nesbitt, Maya Dillagard, Kadeedra Elkins, Desia Trusdale, Ayana Suber, and Ebony English; and

Whereas, the victorious team was led to glory by talented coaches Mr. and Mrs. John Tolbert, with the support of their proud principal, Ms. Deloris Gillard. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and commend the Odyssey of the Mind Team of Lewis Greenview Elementary School of Richland County for capturing the championship at the 2007 Odyssey of the Mind World Finals, and to offer best wishes to them in all of their future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to the team's members, coaches, and Lewis Greenview Elementary School Principal Deloris Gillard.
