 A BILL TO PROVIDE THAT THE GREENWOOD COUNTY ELECTION COMMISSION SHALL BE
 RESPONSIBLE FOR CONDUCTING AND CERTIFYING THE RESULTS OF ELECTIONS FOR SCHOOL
 TRUSTEES FOR SCHOOL DISTRICT 51 COMPOSED OF AREAS IN ABBEVILLE, GREENWOOD, AND
 LAURENS COUNTIES, AND NINETY-SIX SCHOOL DISTRICT 52 IN GREENWOOD COUNTY,
 EXCEPT THAT IN SCHOOL DISTRICT 51 THESE FUNCTIONS SHALL BE PERFORMED WITH THE

AN ACT TO PROVIDE THAT THE GREENWOOD COUNTY ELECTION COMMISSION SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR CONDUCTING AND CERTIFYING THE RESULTS OF ELECTIONS FOR SCHOOL TRUSTEES FOR SCHOOL DISTRICT 51 COMPOSED OF AREAS IN ABBEVILLE, GREENWOOD, AND LAURENS COUNTIES, AND NINETY-SIX SCHOOL DISTRICT 52 IN GREENWOOD COUNTY, EXCEPT THAT IN SCHOOL DISTRICT 51 THESE FUNCTIONS SHALL BE PERFORMED WITH THE ELECTION COMMISSIONS OF THE OTHER COUNTIES IN THIS SCHOOL DISTRICT, AND TO PERMIT THE USE OF GREENWOOD COUNTY VOTING MACHINES IN POLLING PLACES IN ABBEVILLE AND LAURENS COUNTIES WHEN CONDUCTING THESE ELECTIONS.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Conduct of elections

SECTION 1. Notwithstanding any other provisions of law, the Greenwood County Election Commission shall be responsible as provided by law for conducting and certifying the results of elections for school trustees for School District 51 composed of areas in Abbeville, Greenwood, and Laurens Counties, and Ninety-Six School District 52 in Greenwood County, provided, that in School District 51, the Greenwood County Election Commission shall perform these functions with the election commissions or other entities responsible for conducting school elections in Abbeville and Laurens Counties, and Greenwood County voting machines may be used in polling places in Abbeville and Laurens Counties for conducting these elections.

Time effective

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
