A JOINT RESOLUTION TO PROVIDE THAT TEACHERS AND
STAFF OF THE DARLINGTON COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT ARE
NOT REQUIRED TO MAKE UP THE SCHOOL DAYS MISSED ON
SEPTEMBER 5 AND 6, 1996, DURING SCHOOL YEAR 1996-97
WHEN THE SCHOOLS WERE CLOSED DUE TO HURRICANE
CONDITIONS.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
School days not required to be made up
SECTION 1. Teachers and staff of the Darlington County School
District are not required to make up the school days missed on September
5 and 6, 1996, during school year 1996-97 when the schools were closed
due to hurricane conditions. For teachers and staff, these school days are
exempted from the make-up requirement of the defined minimum plan
that full school days missed due to extreme weather or other
circumstances be made up.
Time effective
SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the
Governor.
