A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING MR. TOWNES WALKER OF CLARENDON COUNTY ON HIS ELECTION AS THE 1993 PRESIDENT OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA LP GAS ASSOCIATION AND COMMENDING HIM FOR HIS OUTSTANDING SERVICE IN THIS POSITION.

Whereas, Mr. Townes Walker of Clarendon County has been elected and is serving as the 1993 President of the South Carolina LP Gas Association; and

Whereas, Mr. Walker comes from a long line of leaders in this industry. This bright and articulate young man now plays a vital part in the operation of Clarendon Gas Company, which has been a major player in the industry in South Carolina for over forty years. Mr. Walker follows in the footsteps of his father, Claude Walker, and his father's brother, ThomasNext, who have been recognized throughout the State and region as leaders in their field, and his first cousin, T.I. Walker, is himself a dynamic young leader in this industry; and

Whereas, Townes Walker has been previously active in the South Carolina LP Gas Association, handling both legislative and industry affairs, helping to sustain the excellent reputation that the LP gas industry has had in the State, and, at the same time, providing outstanding service to customers of Clarendon Gas Company; and

Whereas, he is a leader in numerous civic and community organizations and is always willing to do his part to improve his industry and the community; and

Whereas, he is also deserving of a sincere expression of gratitude for his outstanding service to the State of South Carolina as President of the South Carolina LP Gas Association and best wishes for continued success in his future endeavors. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulates Mr. Townes Walker of Clarendon County on his election as the 1993 President of the South Carolina LP Gas Association and commends him for his outstanding service in this position.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. Townes Walker and also to the following: Mr. Claude T. Walker, his father; Mr. PreviousThomas I. Walker, his uncle; and Mr. T.I. Walker, his first cousin.
