 BEST ROLE MODEL OUR STATE CAN HAVE IN NATIONAL COMPETITION.

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING AND OFFERING SINCERE APPRECIATION TO MISS LISA RABON OF HORRY COUNTY FOR HER REPRESENTATION OF OUR STATE IN THE MISS USA 2000 PAGEANT FINISHING AS A SEMI-FINALIST, AND EPITOMIZING THE VERY BEST ROLE MODEL OUR STATE CAN HAVE IN NATIONAL COMPETITION.

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly were delighted to learn that Miss Lisa Rabon of Horry County, our Miss South Carolina, USA 2000, has competed in the Miss USA Pageant and finished as a semi-finalist, placing sixth; and

Whereas, she is a graduate of Clemson UniversityNext; and

Whereas, Lisa is a spokeswoman for breast and ovarian cancer; and

Whereas, Lisa Rabon is a recipient of the high honor of the Eagle PreviousUniversity Leadership Award; and

Whereas, Lisa has been a VIP guest and participant for the American Cancer Society benefits; and

Whereas, Miss Rabon has unselfishly devoted her time to the Carl Malone Foundation for Kids as a guest and participant; and

Whereas, Miss Lisa Rabon, through her representation of Horry County and South Carolina, has always shown an outward and inward poise which has magnified the positive impression she has had on all with whom she has come in contact; and

Whereas, her helpful presence at all the numerous civic functions she attends has been a wonderful attribute as she acts as an ambassador for our State; and

Whereas, Lisa's character is shown every day by the positive outlook she has as personified by her poise and strength as she carries out her duties as Miss South Carolina, USA 2000. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly congratulate and offer sincere appreciation to Miss Lisa Rabon of Horry County for her representation of our State in the Miss USA 2000 Pageant, finishing as a semi-finalist and epitomizing the very best role model our State can have in national competition.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Miss Lisa Rabon.
