A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE THE HONORABLE JIM ROZIER UPON BEING ELECTED CHAIRMAN OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION.

Whereas, Jim Rozier of Moncks Corner was elected Chairman of the South Carolina Department of Transportation Commission on Thursday, January 15, 2015; and

Whereas, a Berkeley County native, he was elected in 1990 as Berkeley County Supervisor and reelected in 1994, 1998, and 2002. Prior to 1990, he spent thirty years in corporate management and operation of small businesses; and

Whereas, while supervisor, Mr. Rozier led Berkeley County through an era of significant economic growth, attracting more than eight and one-half billion dollars of industrial investment, thus creating more than forty-three thousand total jobs; and

Whereas, Mr. Rozier attended Clemson UniversityNext, completed the Institute of Government at the PreviousUniversity of South Carolina, and attended the civilian session of the United States War College. He now manages several businesses under The Rozier Group LLC; and

Whereas, he and his wife Kathy have been blessed with two daughters, Diane and Samantha, one son, Will, and three grandchildren. Mr. Rozier continues to demonstrate his great love for the people of the State of South Carolina through public service. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the Senate, by this resolution, congratulate the Honorable Jim Rozier of Berkeley County upon being elected Chairman of the South Carolina Department of Transportation Commission.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. Jim Rozier.
