A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

COMMENDING SYLVIA A. LONEY OF SUMTER COUNTY FOR HER TIRELESS EFFORTS TO HELP THE LESS FORTUNATE AND IMPROVE HER COMMUNITY.

Whereas, Sylvia A. Loney of Sumter County has worked long and hard to afford youth an opportunity for development, promote growth in Christian character, and provide services through physical, social, mental, and spiritual training through her work at the Catchall Community Center; and

Whereas, Mrs. Loney has attended Morris College, Paine College, Clemson University, and South Carolina State College and is a dedicated member of Hopewell Baptist Church; and

Whereas, she is an active member of numerous community and civic organizations, including the Sumter County Vision for Youth Board, the Sumter County Infant Mortality Board, and the Parent Support Group; and

Whereas, she has received numerous community awards, including the Martin Luther King Community Service Award, the NAACP Human Service Award, and the Sumter County Chapter 1 Outstanding Citizen Award; and

Whereas, she is a dynamic individual whose love for her fellow human beings and determination to help others to improve their lives make her highly deserving of recognition and commendation. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, commends Sylvia A. Loney of Sumter County for her tireless efforts to help the less fortunate and improve her community.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Sylvia A. Loney of Sumter County.
