 SCHOOL "BULLDOGS" FOOTBALL TEAM OF AIKEN COUNTY AND THEIR COACHES FOR AN
 EXCEPTIONAL UNDEFEATED SEASON AND ON WINNING THE 2000 CLASS AA STATE FOOTBALL
 CHAMPIONSHIP.

EXPRESSING THE CONGRATULATIONS OF THE MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA TO THE SILVER BLUFF HIGH SCHOOL "BULLDOGS" FOOTBALL TEAM OF AIKEN COUNTY AND THEIR COACHES FOR AN EXCEPTIONAL UNDEFEATED SEASON AND ON WINNING THE 2000 CLASS AA STATE FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP.

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly are very pleased to learn that the Silver Bluff High School "Bulldogs" Football Team was undefeated and untied during the 2000 football season with a record of 15-0; and

Whereas, this outstanding football team defeated a tough Abbeville team by a score of 28-21 for the 2000 Class AA State Football Championship held at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia on December 2, 2000; and

Whereas, this impressive level of competition could not have been accomplished without the leadership and excellent coaching abilities of Head Coach Al Lown and Assistant Coaches Keith Radford, Eric Hoffstetter, Hank Deer, Dan Osborne, and Jason Wiggins. The remainder of Coach Lown's staff included Trainer Gurney Wiggins, Bus Driver Kenny Barrineau, and Cameraman Doug Huckeba; and

Whereas, the 2000 Bulldogs football roster included the following young men: Maurice Duncan, Deion Williamson, Trey Pope, Deangelo Bryant, Jamie Williamson, Ricky Richberg, Terrance Dotts, Shawn Harris, Troy Williamson, Reuben Wilson, Todd Simmons, Artis Roberson, Jeremiah Dawkins, Joe Wilson, Earl Boyd, Adrian Henderson, Eddie Bryant, Ross Sullivan, Angelo Lincoln, Keion Hazel, Monty Sanders, Marcus Lawrence, Ontario Starks, Matthew Rutz, Nick Bennett, Preston Creason, Rusty Peel, Charles Chavous, Brandon Heath, Ryan Allen, Damion Allen, Jeremiah Pressley, Jimmy Green, Robbie Weathersbee, Tyrone Smith, Sandy Washington, Rico Hughes, and Marckel Washington; and

Whereas, throughout the season, the Bulldogs exhibited the qualities of tenacity, teamwork, and sportsmanship that are the goals of student-athletes everywhere; and

Whereas, these fine young athletes have brought great pride and recognition not only upon Silver Bluff High School and its loyal and enthusiastic students and supporters, but also to Principal Lynn Landis, Assistant Principal Joyce Stanley, Aiken County, and the Palmetto State. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina hereby congratulate the Silver Bluff High School "Bulldogs" Football Team of Aiken County and their coaches for an exceptional undefeated season and on winning the 2000 Class AA State Football Championship.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Head Coach Al Lown.
