TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 23-9-185 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT ANY PERSON CERTIFIED BY THE STATE FIRE MARSHAL TO SERVICE, INSTALL, OR REPAIR A PARTICULAR TYPE OR BRAND OF AUTOMATIC FIRE EXTINGUISHING SYSTEM IS ENTITLED TO SERVICE, INSTALL, OR REPAIR ANY OTHER TYPE OR BRAND OF AUTOMATIC FIRE EXTINGUISHING SYSTEM UPON REQUEST OF THE OWNER OF THE SYSTEM.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:
"Section 23-9-185. Any person certified by the state fire marshal to service, install, or repair a particular type or brand of automatic fire extinguishing system is entitled to service, install, or repair any other type or brand of automatic fire extinguishing system upon request of the owner of the system."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
