TO AMEND SECTION 61-3-461, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE LIMIT ON RETAIL LIQUOR STORE LICENSES ISSUED TO A SINGLE PERSON, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT THE EXTENSION OF THE LIMIT ON INTEREST TO RELATIVES WITHIN THE SECOND DEGREE APPLIES TO RELATIVES RESIDING IN THE PERSON'S HOUSEHOLD AND TO PROVIDE THAT THE LIMIT ON INTERESTS IN RETAIL LIQUOR STORES BEYOND THE MAXIMUM OF THREE APPLIES TO FINANCIAL INTERESTS.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Section 61-3-461 of the 1976 Code, as amended by Section 1583 of Act 181 of 1993, is further amended to read:
"Section 61-3-461. No person, directly or indirectly, individually or as a member of a partnership or an association, as a member or stockholder of a corporation or as a relative to any person by blood or marriage within the second degree who resides in the person's household, shall have any financial interest whatsoever in any retail liquor store licensed under this section except the three stores covered by his retail dealer's licenses, as provided for in Section 61-3-460."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
