A SENATE RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING BERTHA D. TAYLOR ON HER GRADUATION FROM COLUMBIA COLLEGE.

Whereas, among those graduating from Columbia College on May 5, 1996, is Bertha D. Taylor, who has worked as a Residence Hall Director at the college for seventeen years; and

Whereas, Mrs. Taylor worked in Wesley Dormitory for nine years and is in her eighth year as Residence Hall Director of Mirse; and

Whereas, when she began her job at the college seventeen years ago, Mrs. Taylor did not intend to earn a degree; it was her first supervisor who required all residence hall directors to take courses; with that incentive, Mrs. Taylor began to take classes, a step which has led to attaining her degree this year; and

Whereas, she is a dynamic individual who is full of energy and devoted to her work, the students, faculty, and staff of Columbia College; at "seventy-four years young", she is a very special lady who is loved and admired by all who know her; and

Whereas, we are delighted to have this opportunity to accord special recognition to such an outstanding and deserving person. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulates Bertha D. Taylor on her graduation from Columbia College.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mrs. Taylor.
