A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND CONGRATULATE THE SOUTH CAROLINA COMMISSION FOR THE BLIND ON ITS THIRTIETH ANNIVERSARY AND TO EXPRESS APPRECIATION AND GRATITUDE FOR THE THIRTY YEARS OF SERVICE TO THE BLIND AND SEVERELY VISUALLY IMPAIRED CITIZENS OF THIS GREAT STATE.

Whereas, the Commission for the Blind has provided commendable service in rehabilitating individuals who are legally blind and persons with eye conditions that lead to blindness; and

Whereas, due to the leadership of the Commissioner, the Board of Commissioners, and the staff of this vital state agency, citizens who are blind and those at risk of losing their sight enjoy an independent and productive quality of life; and

Whereas, the Commission for the Blind is also to be commended for its ongoing efforts to prevent blindness whenever possible. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the General Assembly recognizes and congratulates the South Carolina Commission for the Blind on its thirtieth anniversary and expresses appreciation and gratitude for the thirty years of service to the blind and severely visually impaired citizens of this great State.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Commissioner, the Board of Commissioners, and the staff of the Commission for the Blind.
