Whereupon, the President announced that the Honorable Ralph King Anderson, having received a majority of the votes cast, was duly elected for the term prescribed by law.

ELECTION OF A CIRCUIT COURT JUDGE,

THIRD JUDICIAL CIRCUIT

The President announced that nominations were in order for a Circuit Court Judge, Third Judicial Circuit.

Senator McConnell, Chairman of the Joint Screening Committee, stated that the following candidate had been screened and found qualified: the Honorable Howard P. King.

Rep. HARVIN seconded the nomination of Mr. King.

On motion of Senator McConnell, nominations were closed, and with unanimous consent, the vote was taken by acclamation, resulting in the election of the nominee.

Whereupon, the President announced that the Honorable Howard P. King was duly elected for the term prescribed by law.

ELECTION OF A CIRCUIT COURT JUDGE AT-LARGE, SEAT 11

The President announced that nominations were in order for a Circuit Court Judge, At-Large, Seat 11.

Senator McConnell, Chairman of the Joint Screening Committee, stated that the following candidates had been screened and found qualified: Thomas C. Cofield, John W. Kittredge, Selma T. Jones, Brenda Reddix-Smalls, Wyatt Saunders, and James C. Williams, Jr.

Senator McConnell stated that the following candidates had withdrawn from the contest: Thomas C. Cofield, Selma T. Jones, Wyatt Saunders, Brenda Reddix-Smalls, and James C. Williams, Jr.

On motion of Senator McConnell, nominations were closed, and with unanimous consent, the vote was taken by acclamation, resulting in the election of the nominee.

Whereupon, the President announced that the Honorable John W. Kittredge was duly elected for the term prescribed by law.

The President announced that nominations were in order for a Circuit Court Judge, At-Large, Seat 12.

Senator McConnell, Chairman of the Joint Screening Committee, stated that the following candidates had been screened and found qualified: Robert S. Armstrong, James R. Barber, III, James E. Brogdon, Jr., Thomas C. Cofield, Thomas C. Dillard, Dale L. DuTremble, Selma T. Jones, Brenda Reddix-Smalls, and James C. Williams, Jr.

On motion of Senator McConnell, nominations were closed, and with unanimous consent, the vote was taken by acclamation, resulting in the election of the nominee.

Whereupon, the President announced that the Honorable James E. Brogdon, Jr. was duly elected for the term prescribed by law.

ELECTION OF A CIRCUIT COURT JUDGE, AT-LARGE, SEAT 13

The President announced that nominations were in order for a Circuit Court Judge, At-Large, Seat 13.

Senator McConnell, Chairman of the Joint Screening Committee, stated that the following candidates had been screened and found qualified: Lee S. Alford, James R. Barber, III, John L. Breeden, Jr., Thomas C. Cofield, Selma T. Jones, J. C. Nicholson, Jr., Brenda Reddix-Smalls, and James C. Williams, Jr.

Senator McConnell stated that the following candidates had withdrawn from the contest: Brenda Reddix-Smalls and James C. Williams, Jr.

Rep. TUCKER seconded the nomination of Mr. Nicholson.

On motion of Senator McConnell, nominations were closed.

The Reading Clerk of the Senate called the roll of the Senate and the Senators voted viva voce as their names were called.
