Whereupon, the PRESIDENT announced that the Honorable Louis B. Lynn, the Honorable William C. Smith, Jr. and the Honorable Allen P. Wood were duly elected to the three At-Large positions on the Board of Trustees for Clemson University for the terms prescribed by law.

Election of Members to the Board of Trustees

for the College of Charleston

First District, Seat 2

The PRESIDENT announced that nominations were in order for the Board of Trustees for the College of Charleston, First Congressional District, Seat 2.

Rep. Stoddard, Chairman of the Committee to Screen Candidates for Boards of Trustees of State Colleges and Universities, stated that Ms. Cherry Daniel of Charleston and Mr. John B. Williams of Moncks Corner had been screened and found qualified.

On motion of Rep. Stoddard, the name of Ms. Cherry Daniel was placed in nomination.

On motion of Rep. Stoddard, the name of Mr. John B. Williams was withdrawn from consideration.

On motion of Rep. Stoddard, the nominations were closed and, with unanimous consent, the vote was taken by acclamation, resulting in the election of the nominee.

Whereupon, the PRESIDENT announced that the Honorable Cherry Daniel was duly elected to the Board of Trustees for the College of Charleston, First Congressional District, Seat 2, for the term prescribed by law.

Second District, Seat 4

The PRESIDENT announced that nominations were in order for the Board of Trustees for the College of Charleston, Second Congressional District, Seat 4.

Rep. Stoddard, Chairman of the Committee to Screen Candidates for Boards of Trustees of State Colleges and Universities, stated that Mr. Joel H. Smith of Columbia had been screened and found qualified.

On motion of Rep. Stoddard, the name of Mr. Joel H. Smith was placed in nomination.

On motion of Rep. Stoddard, the nominations were closed and, with unanimous consent, the vote was taken by acclamation, resulting in the election of the nominee.

Whereupon, the PRESIDENT announced that the Honorable Joel H. Smith was duly elected to the Board of Trustees for the College of Charleston, Second Congressional District, Seat 4, for the term prescribed by law.

Third District, Seat 6

The PRESIDENT announced that nominations were in order for the Board of Trustees for the College of Charleston, Third Congressional District, Seat 6.

Rep. Stoddard, Chairman of the Committee to Screen Candidates for Boards of Trustees of State Colleges and Universities, stated that Mr. J. Philip Bell of Greenwood had been screened and found qualified.

On motion of Rep. Stoddard, the name of Mr. J. Philip Bell was placed in nomination.

Rep. Stoddard, Chairman of the Committee to Screen Candidates for Boards of Trustees of State Colleges and Universities, stated that Mr. Merl F. Code of Greenville had been screened and found qualified.

On motion of Rep. Stoddard, the name of Mr. Merl F. Code was placed in nomination.

On motion of Rep. Stoddard, the nominations were closed and, with unanimous consent, the vote was taken by acclamation, resulting in the election of the nominee.

Whereupon, the PRESIDENT announced that the Honorable Merl F. Code was duly elected to the Board of Trustees for the College of Charleston, Fourth Congressional District, Seat 8, for the term prescribed by law.

Fifth District, Seat 10

The PRESIDENT announced that nominations were in order for the Board of Trustees for the College of Charleston, Fifth Congressional District, Seat 10.
