A BILL

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 10-1-220 SO AS TO REQUIRE ALL BUILDINGS CONSTRUCTED BY THE STATE OR FOR OCCUPANCY BY AN AGENCY, DEPARTMENT, OR ENTITY OF THE STATE AFTER JUNE 30, 2000 TO HAVE TWICE AS MANY TOILETS FOR WOMEN AS FOR MEN.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 10-1-220. After June 30, 2000, all buildings constructed by the State or for occupancy by an agency, department, or entity of the State shall have twice as many toilets for women as for men."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
