A BILL

TO AMEND SECTION 57-23-800, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO VEGETATION MANAGEMENT ALONG THE INTERSTATE HIGHWAY SYSTEM BY THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT THE DEPARTMENT MUST PLANT WILD FLOWERS IN CERTAIN AREAS THAT MUST NOT BE MOWED PURSUANT TO THIS SECTION.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. Section 57-23-800 of the 1976 Code, as added by Act 17 of 1999, is amended by adding at the end:

"(E) The Department of Transportation must plant wild flowers in areas that must not be mowed pursuant to this section."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
