A HOUSE RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING MRS. FLOY GENEVA STANCIL MASSINGALE OF PICKENS COUNTY ON THE OCCASION OF HER ONE HUNDREDTH BIRTHDAY JANUARY 23, 2000, AND JOINING FIVE GENERATIONS OF HER FAMILY IN CELEBRATING HER LONG AND FULL LIFE.

Whereas, Mrs. Floy Geneva Stancil Massingale of Pickens County celebrates her one hundredth birthday on January 23, 2000; and

Whereas, the Liberty, South Carolina, native now resides in Easley, South Carolina, close to her three surviving children, Tommy Lee Massingale, Lou Evelyn Turner, and Betty Jean Hiott; and

Whereas, she is the proud matriarch of five generations, including her deceased son, James Henry "Ted" Massingale, and eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; and

Whereas, she was a charter member of Jones Avenue Baptist Church; and

Whereas, her strength, faith, and love have been constant threads through the fabric of her family; and

Whereas, her family, friends, and fellow citizens honor her life at its one hundredth year. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives congratulate Mrs. Floy Geneva Stancil Massingale of Pickens County on the occasion of her one hundredth birthday January 23, 2000, and join five generations of her family in celebrating her long and full life.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be delivered to Mrs. Massingale.
