TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 23-6-175 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT A TROOPER OR OFFICER ASSIGNED TO THE SOUTH CAROLINA HIGHWAY PATROL DIVISION'S MULTI-DISCIPLINARY ACCIDENT INVESTIGATIVE TEAM SHALL HAVE THE RANK AND COMPENSATION OF A SERGEANT AND IS SUBJECT TO THE COMMAND STRUCTURE THAT GOVERNS HIS SUPERIOR OFFICERS.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. The 1976 Code is amended by adding:
"Section 23-6-175. A trooper or officer assigned to the South Carolina Highway Patrol Division's Multi-Disciplinary Accident Investigative Team shall have the rank and compensation of a sergeant and is subject to the command structure that governs his superior officers."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
