TO EXPRESS THE DEEPEST SYMPATHY OF THE MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY TO THE FAMILY AND FRIENDS OF MR. W. BAILEY GREER OF UNION UPON HIS DEATH.
Whereas, the members of the General Assembly were deeply saddened to learn of the death of Mr. W. Bailey Greer of Union on January 26, 2000; and
Whereas, Mr. Greer was a native of Union, worked throughout his adult life in Union, and was a devoted member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church where he served in many capacities including being a Sunday school teacher and a deacon; and
Whereas, Bailey Greer was a man with a wonderful sense of humor who earned the respect and friendship of all those with whom he came into contact, and he was above all a wonderful father to his son and two daughters and a devoted husband to his lovely wife, Frances; and
Whereas, with the death of this fine man at the age of sixty-eight, the people of Union and the State of South Carolina have lost an outstanding citizen, a God-fearing man, and a good friend; and
Whereas, the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, would like to extend their sincere condolences to his wife, children, family, and friends upon his passing. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly hereby express their deepest sympathy to the family of Mr. W. Bailey Greer of Union upon his death.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to his widow, Mrs. Frances Ivey Greer.
