A BILL

TO AMEND SECTION 30-4-80, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO NOTICE OF MEETINGS OF PUBLIC BODIES, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT IF A PUBLIC BODY PREPARES ITS MINUTES IN SUMMARY FORM THEY MUST BE ACCURATE AND IF THEY ARE NOT, THEY MUST BE CORRECTED WITHIN FIVE WORKING DAYS OF THEIR ORIGINAL RELEASE.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION 1. Section 30-4-80 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"(h) when a public body prepares its minutes in summary form they must be accurate and if they are not, they must be corrected within five working days of their original release."

SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
