TO AMEND CHAPTER 9, TITLE 50, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO HUNTING, FISHING, AND TRAPPING LICENSES, BY ADDING SECTION 50-9-750 SO AS TO AUTHORIZE THE DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES TO ENTER INTO RECIPROCAL AGREEMENTS WITH AUTHORITIES OF THE STATES OF GEORGIA, FLORIDA, NORTH CAROLINA, AND TENNESSEE WHEREBY A PERSON OVER SIXTY-FIVE YEARS OF AGE WHO HAS A VALID HUNTING OR FISHING LICENSE ON HIS PERSON, ISSUED BY A RECIPROCATING STATE THAT EXTENDS THE SAME HUNTING AND FISHING PRIVILEGES TO PERSONS OVER SIXTY-FIVE YEARS OF AGE WHO ARE RESIDENTS OF THIS STATE, MAY HUNT OR FISH IN THIS STATE WITHOUT PURCHASING A NONRESIDENT HUNTING OR FISHING LICENSE IN THIS STATE.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Article 7, Chapter 9, Title 50 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:
"Section 50-9-750. The Department of Natural Resources is authorized to enter into reciprocal agreements with the duly authorized authorities of the states of Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, and Tennessee whereby a person sixty-five years of age or older who has a valid hunting or fishing license on his person issued by a reciprocating state, may hunt and fish in this State without purchasing a nonresident hunting or fishing license. For purposes of this section a reciprocating state is a state named in this section that extends the same hunting and fishing privileges to persons sixty-five years of age or older who are residents of this State."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
