TO AMEND SECTION 24-21-40, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE RECORDING OF PROCEEDINGS BEFORE THE DEPARTMENT OF PROBATION, PAROLE, AND PARDON SERVICES, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT TESTIMONY PROVIDED BY A VICTIM AND INFORMATION ABOUT A VICTIM SHALL NOT BE RELEASED PURSUANT TO THIS SECTION.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Section 24-21-40 of the 1976 Code is amended to read:
"Section 24-21-40. The Board shall keep a complete record of all its proceedings and hold it subject to the order of the Governor or the General Assembly. However, testimony provided by a victim and information about a victim shall not be released pursuant to this section."
SECTION 2 This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
