A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO COMMEND MS. CINDY SMALLS FOR HER OUTSTANDING SERVICE AS A LEGISLATIVE LIAISON FOR GOVERNOR JIM HODGES OVER THE PAST FOUR YEARS, AND TO WISH HER WELL AS SHE ASSUMES HER NEW RESPONSIBILITIES AS CAMPAIGN MANAGER FOR STATE SUPERINTENDENT INEZ TENENBAUM'S REELECTION CAMPAIGN.

Whereas, Ms. Cindy Smalls is the daughter of James and Hester Young, and has two brothers: Quetin Gilyard and Alphonzo Smalls, Jr.; and

Whereas, she is a 1989 graduate of Middleton High School in Charleston County, and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from the University of South Carolina; and

Whereas, since 1985 Cindy's greatest ambition has been to be involved in the political arena; and

Whereas, since 1998, she has rendered outstanding service to the members of the General Assembly and the citizens of South Carolina as a legislative liaison for Governor Jim Hodges; and

Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives have been informed that on May 30, 2002, she will leave her post as the Governor's legislative liaison and assume the responsibilities of campaign manager for superintendent Inez Tenenbaum' reelection campaign; and

Whereas, while the members of the House of Representatives will miss the professionalism and dedication she brought to her job as legislative liaison, we all wish her well as she undertakes her new responsibilities. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the member of the House of Representatives, by the this resolution, commend Ms. Cindy Smalls for her outstanding service as a legislative liaison over the past four years for Governor Jim Hodges and wish her well as she assumes her new responsibilities as campaign manager for State Superintendent Inez Tenenbaum's reelection campaign.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Ms. Cindy Smalls.
