VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO AMEND SECTION 56-3-1960, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO FREE PARKING FOR HANDICAPPED PERSONS, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT A VEHICLE THAT DISPLAYS ANY LICENSE PLATE ISSUED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY THAT INDICATES THAT ITS OWNER IS HANDICAPPED IS ENTITLED TO THE PARKING PRIVILEGES CONTAINED IN THIS SECTION.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Section 56-3-1960 of the 1976 Code, as last amended by Act 181 of 1993, is further amended by adding at the end:
"(4) A vehicle displaying any license plate issued by the department that indicates that the owner is handicapped is entitled to the parking privileges contained in this section."
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
