A BILL

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 44-1-175 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT FEES COLLECTED BY A COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT FOR SERVICES RENDERED MUST BE RETAINED BY THAT COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT FOR USE BY THE PROGRAM THAT COLLECTED THE FEE.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    Article 1, Chapter 7, Title 44 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 44-1-175.    Notwithstanding any other provision of law, fees collected by a county health department for services rendered by the department must be retained by that county health department for use by the program that collected the fee."

SECTION    2.    This act takes effect July 1, 2007.
