INVITATIONS AND MEMORIAL RESOLUTIONS

To whom was referred a Bill (H. 4541) to amend the Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976, by adding Section 1-1-714 so as to designate Sweetgrass as the official craft grass of the State, etc., respectfully

REPORT:

That they have duly and carefully considered the same and recommend that the same do pass:

A BILL

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 1-1-714 SO AS TO DESIGNATE SWEETGRASS AS THE OFFICIAL CRAFT GRASS OF THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    Article 9, Chapter 1, Title 1 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 1-1-714.    Sweetgrass (Muhlenbergia filipes) is designated as the official state craft grass."

SECTION    2.    This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
