A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR CHRISTINA MARIE MCGREGOR FOR HER DEDICATION TO PROTECTING AND PRESERVING THE NATURAL RESOURCES OF THE PALMETTO STATE THROUGH HER ADVOCACY BEFORE THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY.

Whereas, it is with great pleasure that the South Carolina Senate honors those individuals who give tirelessly of themselves to the welfare of this great State and its citizenry; and

Whereas, the natural resources of South Carolina are an irreplaceable, emblematic asset to the people, economy, and quality of life of our State; and

Whereas, Christina Marie "Christie" McGregor has tirelessly devoted the last eleven years of her life to protecting these resources through legislative advocacy with the Coastal Conservation League and The Nature Conservancy; and

Whereas, Ms. McGregor was instrumental in the founding of the South Carolina Conservation Bank, which has protected more than 152,000 acres of farms, forests, parks, and historic sites; and

Whereas, Christie has a passion for nature and appreciation for South Carolina's outdoor traditions such as fishing, boating, hunting, farming, and forestry; and

Whereas, Ms. McGregor has served faithfully on the Board of the South Carolina Wildlife Federation, Conservation Voters of South Carolina Education Fund, Atlantic Coast, Joint Venture, and the Public Utilities Review Commission Energy Advisory Council; and

Whereas, she has worked to improve policies related to South Carolina's natural resources in every way possible, with impeccable integrity and a smile; and

Whereas, Christie will soon be moving to Washington, D.C. to carry on her good work to the national level as The Nature Conservancy's Senior Policy Advisor for Fish and Wildlife. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, recognize and honor Christina Marie McGregor for her dedicated service and wish her the very best in all of her endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Ms. Christina Marie McGregor.
