TO CONGRATULATE RICHARD RYAN, PRESIDENT AND CEO OF CAROLINA INTERNATIONAL TRUCKS IN COLUMBIA, ON BEING NAMED 2011 AMERICAN TRUCK DEALERS NATIONAL TRUCK DEALER OF THE YEAR.
Whereas, the Senate is pleased to learn that Richard "Dick" Ryan, President and CEO of Carolina International Trucks in Columbia, was named national Truck Dealer of The Year at the American Truck Dealers (ATD) annual conference, held this year in Phoenix, Arizona; and
Whereas, the award, co-sponsored by ATD and Heavy Duty Trucking magazine, recognizes excellence in dealership performance, industry leadership, civic contributions, and community service; and
Whereas, nominated from a membership base of more than two thousand, Mr. Ryan has been the owner of Carolina International Trucks since 1992; and
Whereas, the winning of this coveted award adds to a long list of honors that have come to Dick Ryan. Among numerous other recognitions, he has been named 2003 International Dealer of the Year, 2004/05 Blue Book Dealer of the Year, and Idealease Idealgold Award Winner. He has also received the Navistar Financial President's Award; and
Whereas, besides being the face of the ATD Dealer Group for the next year, Mr. Ryan, who began in the business as a sales trainee for International Harvester Company in 1972, will be working with Congress to further the industry and speak at the Indiana University Kelley School of Business; and
Whereas, grateful for his commitment to excellence, the Senate takes great pleasure in recognizing Dick Ryan on being named to this latest honor, 2011 ATD Truck Dealer of the Year. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, congratulate Richard Ryan, president and CEO of Carolina International Trucks in Columbia, on being named 2011 American Truck Dealers National Truck Dealer of the Year.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be provided to Richard Ryan.
