TO WAIVE THE MAKE UP REQUIREMENT FOR THE SCHOOL DAYS MISSED ON JANUARY 29 AND 30, AND FEBRUARY 12, 13, AND 14, 2014, BY THE STUDENTS OF DORCHESTER COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICTS 2 AND 4 WHEN ITS SCHOOLS WERE CLOSED DUE TO SNOW AND TO EXTEND THIS WAIVER TO CHARTER SCHOOLS AND HOME SCHOOLS IN THESE DISTRICTS.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Pursuant to the provisions of Section 59-1-425(C) of the 1976 Code, the requirement that school days missed on January 29, and 30, and February 12, 13, and 14, 2014, by the students in Dorchester County School Districts 2 and 4 when schools in the district were closed due to snow must be made up, is waived. The waiver granted by this section extends to charter schools and home schools located in these districts.
SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
