The House assembled at 10:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr., as follows:

Our thought for today is from Psalm 100:3: "Know that the Lord is God. It is He that made us, and we are His people and the sheep of His pasture."
Let us pray. Almighty God, thank You for the gift of life. Come to the aide of Your people in their time of need. Bless these men and women as they continue to do the work of the people. Grant them strength and courage as they move through the day's work. Bless them with peace and hope and a restful weekend. Cause Your face to shine upon our Nation, President, State, Governor, Speaker, staff, and all who labor in these halls. Protect our defenders of freedom, at home and abroad, as they protect us. Heal the wounds, those seen and those hidden, of our brave warriors. Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayer. Amen.

After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of yesterday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.
