The House assembled at 10:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr., as follows:

Our thought for today is from Proverbs 16:24: "Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the body."

Let us pray. Fill us, O Lord, with Your gracious and generous blessings. May we use our time productively for the people of this State. Grant these Your people good health of body and soul. Give them rest from their labor this week. Bless our leaders of both State and Nation. For those who labor in these Halls, Representatives and staff, keep them in Your love and care. Protect our defenders of freedom at home and abroad as they protect us. Heal the wounds, those seen and those hidden, of our brave warriors who suffer and sacrifice for our freedom. Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayer. Amen.

After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of yesterday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.
