A concurrent RESOLUTION

 

TO CONGRATULATE THE FIFTY SOUTH CAROLINA TECHNICAL COLLEGE STUDENTS NAMED TO SOUTH CAROLINA'S 2024 ALL-STATE ACADEMIC TEAM BY THE PHI THETA KAPPA HONOR SOCIETY IN RECOGNITION OF THEIR SCHOLARLY ACCOMPLISHMENTS AND SERVICE TO THEIR COMMUNITIES.

 

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly acknowledge the fifty members of South Carolina's 2024 All-State Academic Team; and

 

Whereas, these outstanding students from South Carolina's technical colleges were chosen for this honor by the technical college presidents on the basis of academic performance, leadership accomplishments, and service to their colleges and local communities; and

 

Whereas, the All-State Academic Team competition is sponsored by the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society to bring national and statewide recognition to outstanding technical college, community college, and junior college students; and

 

Whereas, these students were South Carolina's representatives in the All-USA Academic Team competition sponsored by the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society; and

 

Whereas, their outstanding records make them worthy representatives of this State and are a reason for pride in their accomplishments that can be shared not only by them and their families, but all South Carolinians; and

 

Whereas, it is appropriate for members of the General Assembly to pause in their deliberations so that they may add their voices to the choruses of congratulations to these outstanding South Carolina technical college students. Now, therefore,

 

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

 

That the members of the South Carolina General Assembly, by this resolution, express their heartiest congratulations to the fifty South Carolina technical college students named to South Carolina's 2024 All-State Academic Team in the All-USA Academic Team competition for technical colleges, community colleges, and junior colleges sponsored by the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.

 

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to each member of South Carolina's 2024 All-State Academic Team.
