A JOINT RESOLUTION TO REQUIRE THE STATE TO PROVIDE CONTINUITY IN FISCAL MATTERS, INCLUDING UNINTERRUPTED PAYMENT OF PERSONNEL, IN THE TRANSFER OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA GUARDIAN AD LITEM PROGRAM FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH CAROLINA TO THE STATE WORKERS' COMPENSATION FUND.

Whereas, the South Carolina Guardian ad Litem Program has been placed at the University of South Carolina Trio Program and is now being placed under the auspices of the State Workers' Compensation Fund; and

Whereas, the pay schedules differ between the University of South Carolina and the State Workers' Compensation Fund; and

Whereas, the staff of the South Carolina Guardian ad Litem program should not suffer any consequences that may be associated with the transfer of the agency from the University of South Carolina to the State Workers' Compensation Fund. Now, therefore,

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Continuity in fiscal matters

SECTION 1. In effecting the transfer of the South Carolina Guardian ad Litem Program from the University of South Carolina to the State Workers' Compensation Fund, the State shall coordinate this transfer so as to provide continuity in fiscal matters, including uninterrupted payment of personnel.

Time effective

SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
