That they have duly and carefully considered the same, and recommend that the same do pass with amendment:
Amend the Joint Resolution as and if amended, by striking all after the enacting words and inserting in lieu thereof the following:
/SECTION 1. The South Carolina Department of Highways and Public Transportation shall require that asphalt used in projects approved by bid by the department may include river gravel, unless prohibited by federal statute or federal regulation.
SECTION 2. This resolution is effective for one year upon approval of the Governor./

TO DIRECT THE DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS AND PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION TO REQUIRE THAT ASPHALT USED IN PROJECTS APPROVED BY BID BY THE DEPARTMENT MAY INCLUDE RIVER GRAVEL.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. The South Carolina Department of Highways and Public Transportation shall require that asphalt used in projects approved by bid by the department may include river gravel. This requirement applies to current projects and projects approved by bids accepted before January 1, 1993.
SECTION 2. This resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
