A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO REQUEST THE SOUTH CAROLINA DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS AND PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION AND THE HIGHWAY PATROL TO NOTIFY MOTORISTS OF THE INCREASE IN RECOUPMENT FEES FOR VARIOUS TRAFFIC OFFENSES WHEN A DRIVER IS STOPPED FOR AN OFFENSE OF ANY TRAFFIC LAW.

Whereas, the recoupment fees for various traffic offenses has increased; and

Whereas, the motoring public should be informed of the increases in fees for a violation of traffic offenses; and

Whereas, the South Carolina Department of Highways and Public Transportation and the Highway Patrol are best able to inform the public of these increases in a similar manner as drivers are informed of the seat belt law. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly request the South Carolina Department of Highways and Public Transportation and the Highway Patrol to inform motorists of the increased in recoupment fees for various traffic offenses when a driver is stopped for an offense of any traffic law.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the department.
