CONGRATULATING WANDO HIGH SCHOOL OF CHARLESTON COUNTY ON WINNING THE CLASS AAAA STATE SOCCER CHAMPIONSHIP FOR 1992.
Whereas, Wando High School of Mt. Pleasant, Charleston County, clinched the 1992 Class AAAA state soccer championship by defeating Irmo High School 1-0 on Saturday, May 23, 1992; and
Whereas, this was the Warriors' second consecutive state soccer crown, following their Lower State championship in 1990 for Class AAAA; and
Whereas, the Wando team, which finished the season with a record of 21-2, is coached by Tom Reilly and boasts some of the finest talent in this part of the country; and
Whereas, the team's outstanding dedication, hard work, determination, and team spirit clearly paid off this season as the team members played their way to the status of "best in the State" for 1992, making them highly deserving of recognition. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:
That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulates Wando High School of Charleston County on winning the Class AAAA state soccer championship for 1992.
