A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO HONOR MRS. FLORENCE M. RICHARDSON ON THE OCCASION OF HER RETIREMENT FROM THE PORTER-GAUD SCHOOL AFTER NEARLY THIRTY-TWO YEARS OF SERVICE.

Whereas, Mrs. Florence M. Richardson has served Porter-Gaud School since 1960 as a receptionist, secretary, registrar, and finally as librarian of the lower school; and

Whereas, Mrs. Richardson, along with her husband, promoted the study of the Orient and the Pacific Islands by accompanying groups of Porter-Gaud students on sixteen trips to those areas during her tenure at the school; and

Whereas, Mrs. Richardson has made substantial contributions to charitable organizations over the years through international organizations such as the Christian Children's Fund, which included the support of ten orphaned Oriental children who have become successful citizens of their countries. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly honor Mrs. Florence M. Richardson for her dedicated service to the students of Porter-Gaud School on the occasion of her retirement as librarian of the lower school of Porter-Gaud.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mrs. Richardson.
