A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO HONOR MR. TED RICHARDSON ON HIS RETIREMENT FROM THE PORTER-GAUD SCHOOL IN CHARLESTON AFTER NEARLY THIRTY-EIGHT YEARS OF DISTINGUISHED SERVICE.

Whereas, Mr. Ted Richardson has served Porter-Gaud School since 1954 as a teacher, coach, and finally as principal of the middle school of Porter-Gaud; and

Whereas, Mr. Richardson, along with his wife, promoted the study of the Orient and the Pacific Islands by accompanying groups of Porter-Gaud students on sixteen trips to those areas during his tenure at the school; and

Whereas, Mr. Richardson and his wife have made substantial contributions to charitable organizations over the years through international organizations such as the Christian Children's Fund, which included the support of ten orphaned oriental children who have become successful citizens of their countries. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly honor Mr. Ted Richardson for his dedicated service to the students of Porter-Gaud School on the occasion of his retirement as principal of the middle school of Porter-Gaud.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. Richardson.
