A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

COMMENDING AND THANKING QUANTUM CHEMICAL CORPORATION'S SUBURBAN PROPANE AND PETROLANE DISTRICTS FOR EXEMPLARY AID TO EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES ORGANIZATIONS IN THE LOWCOUNTRY.

Whereas, Quantum Chemical Corporation's suburban propane and petrolane districts presented contributions totaling fifty thousand dollars in November of 1990 to emergency medical services (EMS) organizations in Berkeley, Charleston, Dorchester, and Georgetown counties; and

Whereas, these counties particularly experienced widespread destruction as a result of Hurricane Hugo in September, 1989; and

Whereas, the presentation was part of a continuing effort that Quantum and its suburban propane and petrolane districts have made -- first, to support EMS in communities where the company has operations and, second, to inform the public about the vital role of EMS; and

Whereas, Quantum maintains suburban propane and petrolane sales and service centers in Summerville, Georgetown, and North Charleston; and

Whereas, the gift made to the EMS organizations in Berkeley, Charleston, Dorchester, and Georgetown counties was extremely generous and is genuinely appreciated; and

Whereas, South Carolinians are indeed fortunate to have friends as caring and as concerned as Quantum Chemical's suburban propane and petrolane districts. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, commends and thanks Quantum Chemical Corporation's suburban propane and petrolane districts for their exemplary aid to emergency medical services organizations in the Lowcountry.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Quantum Chemical Corporation, in care of Ms. Carlotta Wilsen, Quantum Chemical Corporation, 99 Park Avenue, New York, N.Y. 10016.
