A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING THE LEXINGTON COMPOSITE SQUADRON OF THE CIVIL AIR PATROL UPON BEING SELECTED AS THE TOP SQUADRON IN THE NATION FOR 1989.

Whereas, in the Summer of 1990, the Lexington Composite Squadron, Civil Air Patrol, received word that it had been chosen as the top squadron in the United States for 1989; and

Whereas, the Squadron of Distinction is an annual award established to recognize the top CAP squadron or composite squadron in the country for distinctive accomplishments in the cadet program during the preceding calendar year; and

Whereas, as far as could be determined, this was the first time a squadron of the Civil Air Patrol in South Carolina had been selected for this honor; and

Whereas, this is an outstanding achievement and one in which all South Carolinians can take great pride. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulates the Lexington Composite Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol upon being selected as the top squadron in the nation for 1989.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Lexington Composite Squadron, Civil Air Patrol, in care of Lieutenant Colonel Amanda Anderson, CAP, P.O. Box 280251, Columbia, South Carolina, 29228-0251.
