A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO EXPRESS SYMPATHY TO THE FAMILY OF RHONDA MINNETTE JACKSON MCDOWELL OF COLUMBIA.

Whereas, Mrs. Rhonda Minnette Jackson McDowell of Columbia died on Sunday, May 24, 1992; and

Whereas, Mrs. McDowell was a cum laude graduate of Claflin College; and

Whereas, she was the cultural outreach coordinator for the Women, Infant and Children (WIC) program at the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control; and

Whereas, she was very active in the community by participating in Jack and Jill of America, the Irmo-St. Andrews Women's Society, and the Columbia District Committee on Superintendency; and

Whereas, Mrs. McDowell was also very active in the church as a member of Francis Burns United Methodist Church where her husband, the Reverend Edward H. McDowell, Jr., is pastor and as a member of the Cooperative Ministry Board of Directors and the South Carolina Conference Ministers Wives Association; and

Whereas, Mrs. McDowell will be missed by her family, friends, and community. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly express their sympathy to the family of Mrs. McDowell.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Reverend McDowell.
