A JOINT RESOLUTION TO ADOPT REVISED CODE VOLUMES 10 AND 18 OF THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, TO THE EXTENT OF THEIR CONTENTS, AS THE ONLY GENERAL PERMANENT STATUTORY LAW OF THE STATE AS OF JANUARY 1, 1991.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

Legislative findings

SECTION 1. (A) Section 2-13-90 of the 1976 Code authorizes the Legislative Council and the Code Commissioner to contract to be prepared and published under their supervision and direction revised volumes of the Code of Laws when, in their judgment, the supplement of any volume becomes too bulky for convenient use.

(B) The Legislative Council and the Code Commissioner have determined that the cumulative supplements to Volumes 10 and 18 have become too bulky for convenient use.

(C) Section 2-13-90 of the 1976 Code also provides that the revised volumes must be submitted to the General Assembly for its consideration.

Revised volumes adopted

SECTION 2. (A) Revised Volume 10 containing Titles 26 through 32 of the Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976, is substituted for original Volume 10 containing the same titles.

(B) Revised Volume 18, Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976, containing Titles 56 and 57, is substituted for original Volume 18 containing the same titles.

(C) Revised Volumes 10 and 18 are adopted as part of the Code of Laws and to the extent of their contents the only general permanent statutory law of the State as of January 1, 1991.

Time effective

SECTION 3. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
