AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 7-7-40, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO VOTING PRECINCTS IN AIKEN COUNTY, SO AS TO REDESIGNATE AND ADD NEW PRECINCTS, PROVIDE THAT THE PRECINCTS ARE AS SHOWN ON AN OFFICIAL MAP ON FILE WITH THE DIVISION OF RESEARCH AND STATISTICAL SERVICES OF THE STATE BUDGET AND CONTROL BOARD, AND PROVIDE THAT THE POLLING PLACES FOR THE PRECINCTS MUST BE ESTABLISHED BY THE AIKEN COUNTY BOARD OF ELECTIONS AND REGISTRATION WITH THE APPROVAL OF A MAJORITY OF THE AIKEN COUNTY LEGISLATIVE DELEGATION.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
Precincts redesignated
SECTION 1. Section 7-7-40 of the 1976 Code is amended to read:
"Section 7-7-40. (A) In Aiken County there are the following voting precincts:

(B) The precinct lines defining the precincts provided in subsection (A) of this section are as shown on the official map prepared by and on file with the Division of Research and Statistical Services of the State Budget and Control Board designated as document P-0394 and as shown on certified copies of the official map provided by the division to the State Election Commission and the Aiken County Board of Elections and Registration.
(C) The polling places for the precincts provided in subsection (A) of this section must be established by the Aiken County Board of Elections and Registration with the approval of a majority of the county legislative delegation."
Time effective
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
