A JOINT RESOLUTION TO GRANT THE DEPARTMENT OF REVENUE AND TAXATION THE DISCRETIONARY AUTHORITY TO DELAY IMPLEMENTATION OF SECTION 22 OF ACT 164 OF 1993 IF REQUESTED BY A COUNTY GOVERNING BODY AND TO PROVIDE THAT THE DELAY AND IMPLEMENTATION MAY NOT EXTEND BEYOND JANUARY 1, 1995.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
Delay authorized
SECTION 1. Upon application by the governing body of a county, the Department of Revenue and Taxation may authorize a delay in the implementation of Section 22 of Act 164 of 1993. The granting or denial of a delay should be in the sole discretion of the department and shall not be appealable to any other body. In no event may the delay and implementation extend beyond January 1, 1995.
The granting of the delay provided above shall not prohibit a county from receiving its allocation of funding provided for the implementation of this system.
Time effective
SECTION 2. This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
Approved the 14th day of July, 1994.
