TO EXPRESS THE DEEPEST SYMPATHY OF THE MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY TO THE FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS OF WILLIAM WESLEY "BILL" WASH OF GREENWOOD WHO DIED MAY 3, 1993.
Whereas, William Wesley "Bill" Wash of Greenwood died May 3, 1993; and
Whereas, born in Laurens County, he was a son of the late Richard Augustus and Othello Moss Wash; and
Whereas, Mr. Wash was employed by the City of Greenwood for many years and retired in 1971 as Chief of the Greenwood Fire Department. He was former President of the South Carolina Fireman's Association, Past President of the South Carolina Fire Chiefs Association and the Southeastern Association of Fire Chiefs, and Vice President of the International Association of Fire Chiefs; and
Whereas, a member of the First Baptist Church, Mr. Wash was also a member of Greenwood Masonic Lodge 91 A.F.M. and the Hejaz Shrine Temple; and
Whereas, surviving are his wife, Louise Culbreath Wash; a son, Paul C. Wash of Hodges; six sisters, Gladys W. Holloway, Aliene Wash and Sara W. Pierce, all of Greenwood, Ruth W. Bennett of Durango, Colorado, Mrs. Ben (Edith) Coleman of Tampa, Florida, and Elizabeth W. Dillard of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania; a brother, Thomas A. Wash of Pensacola, Florida; and two granddaughters. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly express their deepest sympathy to the family and many friends of William Wesley "Bill" Wash of Greenwood who died May 3, 1993.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Wash family.
