TO CONGRATULATE CONCHITA EDENS OF COLUMBIA UPON BEING NAMED RICHLAND COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT ONE TEACHER OF THE YEAR.
Whereas, Conchita Edens of Columbia is a choral music teacher at Columbia High School; and
Whereas, she also is chairperson of the fine arts, physical education, and drivers education departments, and directs the Teacher Cadets program; and
Whereas, Ms. Edens believes that teachers must:
(1) be dedicated to the advancement of each student;
(2) encourage and inspire;
(3) help students strengthen their inner values, filter out the evils, nurture the good and build high self-esteem; and
(4) project joy that will help students receive messages of beauty, of cheer, and of the joy of learning; and
Whereas, Ms. Edens was selected as Teacher of the Year for Richland County School District One from outstanding teachers from each school in the district; and
Whereas, she was honored at a banquet on May 6, 1993. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the members of the General Assembly congratulate Conchita Edens of Columbia upon being named Richland County School District One Teacher of the Year. Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Ms. Edens.
