EXPRESSING THE SORROW OF THE MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY AT THE DEATH OF VIRGINIA KELLEY, THE MOTHER OF PRESIDENT CLINTON, AND EXTENDING SYMPATHY TO MRS. KELLEY'S FAMILY AND COUNTLESS FRIENDS AND ADMIRERS.
Whereas, it was with shock and great sadness that the citizens of South Carolina learned of the death of Virginia Kelley, the mother of President Clinton; and
Whereas, Mrs. Kelley possessed a wonderful personality; she waged a quiet but valiant battle against cancer; and she inspired countless persons around the world; and
Whereas, we want the President and all of the other members of Mrs. Kelley's family, as well as her countless friends and admirers, to know that they are uppermost in our thoughts and have our deepest sympathy. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, expresses sorrow on behalf of the citizens of South Carolina at the death of Virginia Kelley, the mother of President Clinton, and extends sympathy to Mrs. Kelley's family and her countless friends and admirers.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mrs. Kelley's family, in care of President Clinton.
