CONGRATULATING THE VARSITY CHEERLEADERS OF FORT MILL HIGH SCHOOL IN YORK COUNTY ON WINNING THE STATE CHEERLEADING CHAMPIONSHIP AFTER PARTICIPATING IN THE SOUTH CAROLINA STATE CHEERLEADING ASSOCIATION'S STATE COMPETITION.
Whereas, the varsity cheerleaders of Fort Mill High School in York County have been declared state cheerleading champs in the 3A Division after participating in the South Carolina State Cheerleading Association's state competition at Lexington; and
Whereas, the girls from Fort Mill High competed against seven other teams from across the State; and
Whereas, team members who participated include Karen Hurley (captain), Kristen Leahey (co-captain), Amy Armfield, Heather Henton, Kari Woodson, Jennifer McClure, Jenna Bates, Valarie Gagnon, Jaime Stevenson, Kendall Odom, Carrie Segar, Jetta Coy, and Laneka Patton; and
Whereas, the varsity cheerleading coach at Fort Mill High is Jan Maness; and
Whereas, the Fort Mill girls' success is the result of their talent, hard work, dedication, and unity, and their state title is highly deserving of recognition. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulates the varsity cheerleaders of Fort Mill High School in York County on winning the state cheerleading championship after participating in the South Carolina State Cheerleading Association's state competition.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the varsity cheerleading squad of Fort Mill High School, in care of Coach Jan Maness.
