TO AMEND SECTION 40-15-270, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO RECIPROCAL LICENSING FOR DENTISTS AND DENTAL HYGIENISTS, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT THE BOARD MAY GRANT RECIPROCAL LICENSES TO STATES WHO ARE MEMBERS OF REGIONAL TESTING SERVICES WITHOUT THE BOARD BEING A MEMBER OF THE TESTING SERVICE IF THE LICENSING REQUIREMENTS ARE OTHERWISE EQUIVALENT TO SOUTH CAROLINA.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
SECTION 1. Section 40-15-270 of the 1976 Code is amended to read:
"Section 40-15-270. The board may grant licenses to licensees of other states who are members of regional testing services of which the board is also a member without further examination and may make all necessary regulations and agreements for the reciprocal recognition of licenses issued by other states, if the licensing requirements of the other states are otherwise equivalent to South Carolina's licensing requirements.
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
