TO COMMEND MR. CHRIS CAISON, UNION CAMP PLANT MANAGER AND PRESIDENT-ELECT OF THE GREATER SUMTER CHAMBER OF COMMERCE, FOR ALL HE HAS DONE TO IMPROVE THE EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES OF THE STUDENTS OF SUMTER COUNTY AND ESPECIALLY THE STUDENTS OF HILLCREST HIGH SCHOOL.
Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives are aware of the wonderful support that Mr. Chris Caison, Union Camp Plant Manager and president-elect of the Greater Sumter Chamber of Commerce, has given to the Sumter County school districts and especially to Hillcrest High School; and
Whereas, Chris Caison is a widely respected business leader in the Midlands Region of South Carolina and has given freely of his time and talents to help improve the educational opportunities for the children of Sumter County; and
Whereas, of particular note is his dedicated support of Project Support Our Schools - Support Our Students (SOS) and the Parent-Student-Teacher Conference (PST). The PST recently contributed eleven thousand dollars to provide an adventure course for students, teachers, and the community. This course is specifically designed to enhance self-esteem and teamwork, as well as interpersonal relations and communications; and
Whereas, he has additionally provided great leadership in meeting the educational funding shortfall which the school districts of Sumter County have faced in the recent past where state budget reductions over a period of several years were made; and
Whereas, this outstanding man is unquestionably a credit to himself, his family, Union Camp, the Greater Sumter Chamber of Commerce, and the State of South Carolina; and
Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives, by this resolution, would like to publicly recognize and commend Chris Caison for his tremendous efforts on behalf of education in Sumter County and in the State of South Carolina. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the House of Representatives hereby commend Mr. Chris Caison, Union Camp Plant Manager and president-elect of the Greater Sumter Chamber of Commerce, for all he has done to improve the educational opportunities of the students of Sumter County and especially the students of Hillcrest High School.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. Chris Caison.
